Carbon Monoxide is a very potent poison for use in euthanizing burrowing rodents.  Until now, there has been no inexpensive, efficient delivery system.

We manufacture four models of PERC Pressurized Exhaust Rodent Controllers:

•  PERC 206, a two-hose skid mounted unit with a 6.5hp gas engine,

While baits, traps, shooting, blowing up burrows, and conventional low-pressure auto exhaust delivery systems all work, nothing is as effective, efficient and inexpensive as the PERC system. A PERC system can treat moderately infested alfalfa fields at about 3.5 acres per hour with a single operator. 

2006 tests conducted by the University of California Extension Service show that the PERC can reduce gopher populations by 66 percent and ground squirrel populations by 75 percent in a single treatment.

Gophers, prairie dogs, and ground squirrels can cause production losses of 20-50 percent in pastures and alfalfa. Equipment breakdowns and dirt contaminated hay cause huge economic losses to the farmer. Trees and vines girdled and killed by gophers can destroy the economic viability of an orchard or vineyard. The PERC (Pressurized Exhaust Rodent Controller) is a new, environmentally friendly, cost effective system for significantly reducing burrowing rodent populations on large acreage farms. Residential homeowners as well as landscape professionals will appreciate the noninvasive control PERC provides.

PERC is also a powerful compressor that can be used in the field.  Compressed and cooled exhaust (carbon monoxide) is safer than compressed air when used for blowing out equipment such as hay bailers, where loose flammable material may come in contact with hot components.

Field trials keep two operators busy with the three reels and hoses per side. The higher pressure with a higher cubic feet of gas delivery per minute reduces errors from pulling the probes too fast from mound. The 620 delivers 11.5 cfm per hand probe and hose when all 6 probes are in gopher runs while the 412 deliverers 7.5 cfm when all 4 probes are in gopher runs. That computes to 65 percent more gas per minute put down the hole!! Standard features like the walking beam tandem axle, the pressurized gas cooling system and the new design for wand holders were developed through a collaboration between H & M Engineering and custom operators with hundreds of hours of field experience with the PERC 412. NEW! Wand storage is under the trailer bed with the hose guard/bump rail also serving as the lock to keep the wand from vibrating out of the tube wand holder.  The new bump rail/wand holders makes it easier to keep hoses straight when in use in the field.  With two 1 1/4" intake cooling coils and a 1" pressure side cooling coil H & M Engineering has solved the excess heat problems created by the 69 cfm pump and the 20 hp motor that drives it. Separate gas tank, elevated muffler with center line exhaust delivery tubing and a 20 hp Honda motor gives the PERC 620 features that makes it stand apart from the PERC 412 and the PERC 206. The Champion S60 pump is a 4 cylinder pump in a V configuration. The combination of the twin V motor and the V4 pump has eliminated much of the vibration. The motor/compressor combination delivers 69 psi at 50 pounds tank pressure, about two and a half times the gas delivery of the popular PERC 412.
